Dr. Klaus-Dieter Gerdsmeyer – CEO
Dr. Gerdsmeyer joined TGE Marine Gas Engineering GmbH in 1996 as a Project Manager for gas carrier projects. In his role he gained experience across multi-disciplinary and complex offshore projects and has successfully completed more than 30 gas carrier contracts to date.
In 2005 Dr. Gerdsmeyer was appointed Sales Director of the company’s offshore business unit and in 2007 became the Director Sales & Business Development for TGE Marine Gas Engineering GmbH.
Dr. Gerdsmeyer holds a diploma (Dipl.-Ing., 1985) and Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hannover in Germany.
Mr. Steffen Schober – CFO
Mr. Schober joined TGE Marine Gas Engineering GmbH in 2008 as Head of Finance and was appointed CFO in 2009. Prior to his assignment at TGE Marine Gas Engineering GmbH, Mr. Schober spent 12 successful years as a chartered accountant at Deloitte, Germany.
Mr. Schober holds a diploma in Economics (Dipl.-Kaufm., 1995) from the University of Cologne, Germany. He is also a qualified tax advisor (holds the additional titles of Tax Advisor (Steuerberater, 2000) and chartered public accountant (Certified Public Auditor (Wirtschaftsprüfer, 2002).
Mr. Ulrich Menninghaus – Project Director
Mr. Menninghaus joined TGE Marine Gas Engineering GmbH in 1997 as a Process Engineer within its offshore business unit and was appointed Project Manager in 2001. Since 2001 he has managed more than 30 gas carrier projects in shipyards across the globe. Notably, Mr. Menninghaus was the Project Engineer for TGE Marine Gas Engineering’s unique LPG-FSO.
Mr. Menninghaus was promoted Project Director in 2006 and is now responsible for the operational performance of the company’s complete range of marine contracts.
Mr. Menninghaus holds a diploma (Dipl.-Ing.) of Process Engineering from the University of Paderborn (1993), Germany.
Torkil Bentzen, Chairman of the Board
Mr. Bentzen is an engineer and has extensive experience in the management of companies. He currently holds the following positions in companies:
– Chairman of Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor
– Chairman of State of Green, Public Private Partnership,
– Vice-Chairman of FLSmidt & Co A/S, Denmark
– Member of the Board of Siemens Denmark A/S
– Senior Advisor of the Board of Mitsui Engineering and
Shipbuilding Co. Ltd, Japan
– Advisor of the danish Ministry for Energy und Climate
In the past, Mr. Bentzen worked among others as Chief Executive Officer in the following Companies:

– Gotaverken Energy AB, Sweden
– Energy E2 A/S Denmark
Dr. Taketsune Matsumura – Member of the Board
Dr. Matsumura is an engineer and graduated from Tokyo University in 1991, holds Ph.D. in environmental technology from the University of Tokyo, and specializes especially in ship hull form design, fluid dynamics, and artificial intelligence.
He is currently General Manager of the Basic Design Department at the Ship & Ocean Project Headquarters of Japan, part of Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Japan.
Dr. Matsumura joined Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in 1991.
He was engaged in R&D for Advanced Marine Vehicles like high speed craft with water-jet propulsion in 1991 through 2006.
Then, he worked as a R&D project manager for Bulk Carriers, LNG Carriers, and Coast Guard Ships for eight years, and was appointed General Manager for Basic Design Department of Ship & Ocean Project Headquarters in 2015.
He is a member of SNAME and JASNAOE (The Japan Society of Naval Architects and Ocean Engineers).
Dr. Manfred Küver – Member of the board
Dr. Küver joined TGE Marine Gas Engineering GmbH in 1989. In 1997 he was appointed Executive Vice President of the offshore business unit and in 2006 CEO of TGE Group. Since April 2017 he is member of the Supervisory Board of the Group’s holding company. Dr. Küver has strongly influenced the Group’s development, especially in small scale LNG and new offshore markets. As an industry expert, Dr. Küver has been a keynote speaker at numerous conferences and events (GasTech, GTI, etc.).
Dr. Küver holds a diploma (Dipl.-Ing., 1981) and Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) in mechanical engineering from the University of Hannover, Germany.
