Launch of “Coral Methane” at Remontowa Shipyard

On May 6th the “Coral Methane” , the world’s first combined LNG/Ethylene carrier of 7,500 cbm capacity designed by TGE in close co-operation with the owner Anthony Veder group, has been launched at Remontowa shipyard in Poland. The ship will be delivered to the owner in the last quarter of 2008 and serve the Norwegian coast with LNG. The cargo tanks have been designed and fabricated by TGE and shipped to the yard in accordance with the contractual schedule and certified by Bureau Veritas.
Small LNG-carriers can be considered as a new market segment and TGE being world market leader in the ethylene segment has recently upgraded its ethylene design to cover LNG service. Type approval for ship sizes up to 35,000 cbm capacity with type C pressure vessel containment system has been certified by Bureau Veritas and most recently TGE has developed designs for up 70,000 cbm capacity.
