LNG fuel gas units for Q-max carrier “Rasheeda” commissioned

The TGE Marine designed and delivered a skid mounted LNG fuel gas package unit for the Q-max carrier (“Rasheeda”) have been successfully commissioned. A comprehensive testing program has been conducted in the last couple of weeks where the FGS has been tested under several load conditions. As TGE Marine could not run the FGS on a test stand a very detailed dynamic simulation of all load cases has been performed and the results have been implemented into the logic of the control system. The engineering team of TGE has closely cooperated with the Technical University of Cologne and a patent has been filed for the control system.
TGE Marine’s CEO, Manfred Küver, commented: “After a comprehensive testing of the FGS in close cooperation with MAN and the operating crew we are extremely happy that we succeeded with the commissioning of the system. The “Rasheeda” is now the first LNG-carrier working on a converted MAN ME-GI engine.”
